Class 17 was two weeks ago. I took last week off to help give me more time to complete tasks required for my offline ‘day’ job (which, I can’t quit yet :D). I felt rusty, tired, and quite honestly .. not in the mood to paint!

Today – the plan was to paint a new picture from scratch – and paint from a picture, not from a sketch or image in front of us, like the petunias in water sketch of class 14 and class 15.
Mostly everybody in the class was finishing up last week’s challenge to sketch and paint a bowl of petunias. I didn’t sketch last week, and just went ahead and painted my Petunias in one sitting … so, I pretty much was able to paint what I want.
I was dreading this week’s class because last week the plan was to try to paint the Northern Lights – which, I did on Class 11, the last class I took back in December 2010. Not that I was dreading the painting part, but I figured I would just paint something else instead in class, and I wasn’t sure what I was going to paint!
This was my second class in 2012. My second class in 2010 was about acrylic colors … where we spent a whole class making a color chart from 3 basic colors (red, yellow and blue) and white and/or water. Although I wouldn’t say I am a master at this, I wanted to just start in and paint! (more…)
Take Two! Yvonne and I took classes with Guy St. Goddard Sept-Dec/2010 and stopped after my father passed away Christmas 2010 morning. But, in Sept/2011 I started to do these speed painting videos, and really started liking the extra time on weekends to paint something. So, Yvonne signed me up for another 10 classes in 2012 with Guy St. Goddard once again!

This was my eighth speed painting attempt!
Before I continue, I apologize once again for not having a video for today’s speed painting. My camera’s batteries went dead in the middle of painting the initial white background (which ended up turning blue anyway). Because most of my painting was done after the camera went dead, I just deleted the .AVI file. I didn’t notice this until after the painting was complete as I was watching TV while I paint! (more…)

I was excited at first, because I put a “Shout Out” to my facebook friends a ‘readers’ choice’ offer, where I would paint the first image a reader might suggest to me. Sadly, I either have no friends, no one saw the post on my facebook wall and their timeline, or nobody could think of something for me to paint 🙁
