HART Speed Painting – Take 001 – Desktop Background

It’s been just over 10 months since I last posted AND painted anything. Shortly after our last class and post my father took himself off Dialysis and passed away on December 25, 2010. I haven’t painted much since, and work has not only been super busy, it’s been quite a stressful year for me personally.

But, I’ve had the itch to paint! My wife has been running into our old Guru and instructor Guy St. Goddard at the St. Norbert Farmer’s Market each Saturday morning this summer, as well as at the oddest places too! We had a nice chat just after the Winnipeg Ten By Ten Roadrace on September 11, 2011 where Guy had a booth, and again at the Farmer’s market this weekend.

If you want to check out some great art .. Guy St. Goddard will be exhibiting his work at the Manitoba Art Expo November 4,5,6,7 2011. There are a lot of other artists attending that may inspire you as well!

Itchy and Scratchy

As you can see browsing my galleries in here, I like to paint really fast without care or, well with care but less attention to detail than others normally would. Here is a video I took that was originally four videos totaling 36 minutes in length that I sped up 4x’s to fit under 10 minutes for YouTube. It was supposed to be of my desktop computer’s background image FROM MEMORY (which I found some where on the ‘net but can’t remember where). After seeing the finished product, I think next time I will place the picture on my laptop and look at it while I’m painting so I’m not too far off 🙂 Also, in the middle of the video you will see where I painted Stars .. I originally wanted to do the ‘snowflake‘ method of tapping the brush against a pen or something, but I was too close to the furniture in our living room (we were watching Amazing Race!)

~ feel free to view this in full screen by clicking the 4 arrows on the bottom right of the video taskbar.
