Class 9 – Reinvention

Filed under: Art Class — HART @ 7:09 am

Well .. although my “Victoria Beach Experiment” wasn’t ~too~ bad … there was a general consensus that it did not meet up to my “impressionistic” standards! I agree that it seemed to lose some depth in its colors and shorelines and what the heck was I thinking about that yellow bush? lol

Anyway .. we all tried to work on a similar image … a forest near a river, with lots of snow on the ground and on the river and riverbanks and with a few birch trees near the shoreline =[or, at least that’s how I interpreted it :D]= ..Being the speed painter I am I pretty much finished mine during the classtime, while Yvonne’s is about half finished. I didn’t really try too hard to focus on horizon, or depth but tried to get back that impressionist feeling with my colors and style of stroking that brush~ This is the first canvas in a portrait size (versus landscape size) that I have done.

Next time we are going to try little projects – painting on 5×7 or 6×8 little canvases! Good for XMAS cards perhaps?
